Lightroom Classic Plug-in

Lightroom Classic Plug-in

Publish galleries without leaving Lightroom.

Before you start: you need Lightroom Classic

This plug-in works with Adobe Lightroom Classic only. It cannot work with the cloud Lightroom app, the one simply called “Lightroom” on desktop, web and mobile. That app has no plug-in support of any kind, and no version of this plug-in can change that.

Not sure which one you have? Open it and look at the File menu. Lightroom Classic has a Plug-in Manager entry. If yours does not, you have the cloud app. Lightroom Classic is included with the Adobe Photography Plan and installs from the Creative Cloud desktop app as a separate item named “Lightroom Classic”.

You will also need an active Event Gallery account.

Install

Download the plug-inZIP, 66 KB · updated July 21, 2026

  1. Download the plug-in and unzip it.
  2. Move the EventGallery.lrplugin folder somewhere permanent before installing it. Your Documents folder is fine. If you install it from your Downloads folder and later clear that folder, the plug-in stops working. On a Mac the unzipped item looks like a single file rather than a folder; that is correct, macOS treats it as a bundle.
  3. In Lightroom Classic, choose File > Plug-in Manager.
  4. Click Add, select the plug-in folder, then click Add Plug-in.

It appears in the list with a green status light when it has installed correctly.

The Lightroom Plug-in Manager. The Add button is at the bottom left; the installed plug-in shows a green status light.

Add the plug-in folder, then check for the green status light.

  1. Switch to the Library module.
  2. In the Publish Services panel on the left, find Event Gallery and click Set Up.
  3. Click Sign in and enter your Event Gallery details.
  4. Click Save.

The Lightroom Publishing Manager. The Sign in button sits under the account heading, beside a greyed-out Sign out.

The publish service settings. Click Sign in.

Enter the same details you use on the website.

Your sign-in is saved on this computer so the plug-in can publish without asking again. Signing out removes it. If you change your Event Gallery password, sign in again here. The panel shows a short summary of your plan, including the preview size used and whether full-resolution originals are uploaded.

Publish

  1. Right-click Event Gallery in the Publish Services panel and choose Create Gallery.
  2. Name it, then click Choose gallery to pick an existing gallery, or Create new gallery to make one. Creating one asks for a name, a date and a type, the same three the dashboard asks for.
  3. Drag photos onto the collection.
  4. Click Publish.

Photos upload in two stages. Every preview goes first, so the gallery becomes viewable quickly, then the full-resolution originals upload in the background.

Whether a new gallery starts visible to clients follows your account's own default, the same one the dashboard uses. The Create gallery window tells you which applies before you create it. You can publish or hide any gallery from your dashboard afterwards.

Once a collection has published, it stays tied to that gallery. To publish to a different one, create another collection.

Editing and removing photos

  • Edit a photo in Develop and it moves to Modified Photos to Re-publish. Publishing again replaces the version in the gallery rather than adding a second copy.
  • Changing only metadata, such as a title, caption or keywords, does not mark a photo for re-publishing, because that information is not uploaded.
  • Removing a photo from a published collection removes it from Lightroom only. The photo stays in your gallery, and the plug-in says so when you do it. Hide or remove it from your dashboard. The same applies to deleting a whole collection: Lightroom stops tracking it and the gallery is left untouched, so nothing you do in Lightroom can take a live gallery away from your clients.

If something goes wrong

Photos that fail to upload stay in New Photos to Publish and are retried the next time you publish. Nothing is lost if Lightroom closes part way through.

A photo can be live in the gallery at preview resolution while its full-resolution original has not uploaded, usually because the connection dropped. Those photos stay published, so Lightroom will not offer them again. Finish them with Library > Plug-in Extras > Event Gallery: Retry Full-Resolution Uploads. The Plug-in Manager panel shows how many are waiting.

Library > Plug-in Extras > Event Gallery: Check Connection reports, in one dialog, whether the server is reachable, whether your saved account still signs in, your preview size, whether uploads go direct to cloud storage, whether full-resolution originals are uploaded on your plan, and how many galleries the account can see. Run this first if uploads are not working.

Log files

Attach this file if you contact support:

The exact folder depends on your Lightroom version. The Plug-in Manager panel shows the real path once the plug-in has written anything, so check there first.

  • Windows, Lightroom Classic 14 and later: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Adobe\Lightroom\Logs\LrClassicLogs\EventGalleryPlugin.log
  • Windows, earlier versions: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\lrClassicLogs\EventGalleryPlugin.log
  • macOS: ~/Documents/lrClassicLogs/EventGalleryPlugin.log

What it means

Storage quota exceeded

Your account is full and publishing stops immediately. Upgrade your plan or free up space, then publish again.

This gallery belongs to a different account

The collection is bound to a gallery owned by someone else. Choose a different gallery.

Gallery or photo no longer exists

The gallery was deleted from your dashboard. A collection cannot be pointed at a different gallery once it has published, so create a new collection.

Sign in to Event Gallery again

The saved password is no longer valid, usually after a password change.

Good to know

  • Photos are uploaded as JPEG in sRGB. Raw files are rendered by Lightroom first, which is what your clients should see anyway.
  • Videos are not supported in this version. Use the desktop uploader or the web uploader for video.
  • Photos carry their capture time, so galleries sort by when the photo was taken rather than when it was uploaded.
  • Right-click a published gallery and choose Show in Event Gallery to open it in your dashboard.
  • The gallery type you pick when creating one is remembered, so if you always shoot the same kind of job you only choose it once.
